The Grain Exchange Building has been a landmark in the commercial life of Winnipeg and Western Canada since the turn of the century and continues to play an important role in the Downtown office market today.

One of the city's largest office buildings, the Grain Exchange Building occupies a full city block and the ten stories contain over 250,000 square feet of rentable office space.

We have provided a map of the Concourse which connects the Grain Exchange Building to the rest of the downtown area.

For your convenience, we have also provided a map of the available Parking Lots in proximity to the Grain Exchange Building.

The building was designed by the Toronto firm of Darling and Pearson, and contructed in 1906 to 1908 by the Winnipeg firm of Kelly Brothers and Mitchell to house the flourishing Winnipeg Grain Exchange. The architecture of the building is a classic example of the Italian Renaissance palazzo style and features golden sandstone brick, richly decorated with carved limestone and glazed ceramic tile. It's steel and reinforced concrete frame was new to Winnipeg at the time of construction.

The Grain Exchange Building is experiencing a renewed prominence as one of Winnipeg's most enduring office buildings. It has been enhanced through upgrading of systems and renewing of decor. The presence of retail and service outlets, and it's temperature controlled connection to the majority of the Downtown area contributes to the overall convenience of the building. It's location in the picturesque downtown Exchange District makes the Grain Exchange Building a great place to be.
